555 BCD DEMUX

This is an 8 LED scrolling sculpture based around the LM555 timer IC, an UP/DOWN BCD counter, and a 3 to 8 line demultiplexer.

At the base we have the 555 setup as an astable multivibrator who’s frequency is adjustable with the sliding potentiometer . This oscillator feeds the next stage which is the BCD counter setup to count UP. This then feeds the 3 digit BCD to 8 demultiplexer which drives the LEDs.

It is powered via a 400mAh LiPo which can be charged by the Adafruit USB LiPo charger at the bottom.
